I worked for a client who demolished a stone terrace and re-graded his backyard before beginning the permitting process. The county fined the client for grading an area over 5,000 square feet without a grading permit. The late winter project turned into a summer project, and his yard was mud and weeds all spring because of county delays in approving permits.
